Blogs
The blog (or short article) is how I, and others, will convey information and updates to the families. Blog posts will initially include what I have learned over the last 25 years and highlight certain families or events that prove important or interesting. Some blogs will attempt to educate on genealogical resources and tools available. The most recent 6 blogs appear in the Blog section, and others are found in Archives.
The frequency of posts will initially be weekly and eventually bi-monthly or monthly based on the backlog of things to discuss.
Forum(s)
I initially plan on implementing one forum titled “Ask the Family”. It is here that you can ask questions or provide answers about the families, or start a discussion about a topic that interest you.
Research
This page and related sub-pages contain links to download census images, birth, marriage, and death certificates (available to the public), family photos, newspaper clippings, genealogy e-Books, and more. There will also be links to genealogy sites and resources.
Initially, the large number of documents I collected over the last 25 years will be posted here (~550+ files). I hope other family members will contribute files to fill in the gaps.
Genealogy Database (future)
For members of the site who can substantiate they are part of the Weeast family, I plan on providing access to my personal genealogy database. I’ll announce when this is ready; I have some general cleanup to do before I make it available.
Security
Today, more than ever, you should be cautious about the information you post online.
If you want to contribute material to this site, for now, I would suggest you contact me and I’ll review and post your contributions. Someday we may open up the site for a select few who want to add content to their family groups.
Site Rules
Unfortunately, the obvious has to be explained. This is not Facebook. Be considerate and careful with comments posted on the site; especially regarding language. We expect visitors of all ages to browse this site. If you experience a comment you feel is inappropriate, please bring it to my attention. If you see something on the site you are not comfortable with, please bring that to my attention as well. There are certain measures implemented to catch and quarantine inappropriate comments for my review.
I have also implemented tools to catch spammers who will try to access and misuse the site, although I expect periodically some might get through.
Do not use this site to promote any business, or sell your services. This is an ad-free information sharing site only. And No politics allowed.
Measures will be taken to block those who choose to ignore the rules.
